Thanksgiving Feast

Thursday, November 27, 2008 , Posted by Liz at 7:34 PM

Today we have so much to be thankful for, not only our health, families and friends, but most of all our salvation and freedom through Jesus Christ! It is my desire to be this thankful everyday and not just on Thanksgiving Day.

Jason and I and our children gathered at my parents' home today to partake in a true Thanksgiving Feast!! My Granny and Papa, Uncle Bobby, and Uncle Billy (my Dad's parents and brothers) also joined us from Arlington, and Wichita Falls Texas.

On our smorgasbord, we had turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn, fruit salad, green salad, cole slaw, sausage, brisket, greens, broccoli cheese rice casserole, and both pumpkin and pecan pies! After a long lunch, we lounged around for awhile and most of the men even got in a little nap before the Cowboys played. Tristan got in a few rounds of chess (he has been playing a few years now and really enjoys the game) with Uncle Bobby and Uncle Billy, and he even tried his best to teach Seth how to play, but after many failed attempts, they eventually took up playing old maid instead. My mom and I went to Ardmore High School's track and got in a brisk walk (surely we offset some of those dressing calories!) But overall Thanksgiving was wonderful and I know it is just a matter of time now, and Christmas will be upon us!

Please excuse the chinet plates, and Styrofoam cups, but with this many folks, it was just a must!
