Quick Trip to San Antonio

Jason and I and the kids, plus my mother-in-law all went to San Antonio late Saturday night because of a family emergency (details on my SIL's blog here.) We had a rough time getting there, due to running out of gas across the street from the gas station, (and that was just about 8 miles from our house) then getting pulled over south of Waco for a tail light being out, and then we couldn't find our current insurance verification. Thankfully the policeman must have felt bad for us, or thought we were crazy so he sent us on our way with a verbal warning. Then when we pulled into the San Antonio area around 1:30 am, there was not an available hotel room after at least 10 phone calls, and a couple of stops, we headed back towards New Braunfels and found a room. So after a few hours of sleep we met up with other family and got breakfast at IHOP which was a 2 hour ordeal and that wasn't very good considering the fact that we were all wanting to get to the hospital to visit Jason's cousin Shawn. After finally arriving at the hospital, the staff was incredibly rude and didn't want hardly anyone in the room with Shawn at all. We stayed there most all of the day (in the waiting area, and outisde at least) and left at around 7:30 that night with the intentions of driving the 5 1/2 hour drive back home. But after a nice supper at a Mexican restaurant (we were in San Antonio after all!) we only made it to Austin to spend the night. We finally got home Monday at about 3:00 pm! So much for a speedy trip. But I am glad that we were able to see Shawn and her family and be supportive in any way that we could. We will definitely keep her in our prayers and lift her up to God. Here are a couple of pics from the trip.
